WE CAN HELP YOU CHOOSE A MACHINE THAT
FITS YOUR NEEDS
When
choosing a credit card machine there are several things to
consider...
1)
Do you accept your credit card payments over the telephone
or via mail?
If
your business accepts credit card payments from phone or mail
orders, your primary consideration should be centered around
ease-of-use because you will be keying your credit card payments
manually. Since all credit card terminals are designed to
allow manual transaction entry, you need a dependable terminal
and printer that allows you to process the payment with a
minimum of fuss. The Verifone
Tranz 330 and an accompanying
Verifone P250 printer
are basic but very popular side-by-side partners that are
simple to program and easy to use. The Verifone
Tranz 380 is also a fine choice
benefiting from its' larger memory capacity. The Verifone
P250 and P900 printers compliment the Tranz 380 easily and
efficiently.
For merchants who prefer integrated, or all-in-one terminal
and printer units, please see our integrated
units page featuring fine
Verifone, Hypercom
and Lipmanintegrated
equipment.
2)
Are your customers physically present when presenting their
credit cards?
If
your business is a traditional retail storefront, your customers
will be present at the time their cards are offered as payment.
Since counter space is a precious commodity in a retail environment,
we recommend that business managers and owners consider integrated
credit card acceptance devices. An integrated device is a
credit card terminal and printer all-in-one. Integrated units
save valuable counter space and require fewer electrical outlets
from which to operate. The Verifone
Tranz 460 , the Verifone
Omni 3200 , the Hypercom
T7P and the Lipman
Nurit 2085 are each quality integrated
units that will provide years of reliable service to your
retail business. Side-by-side terminal and printer units produced
by these same manufacturers will also provide excellent performance
but require more counter space and power outlets.
3) Do your customers use debit cards?
Debit
cards have become increasingly popular with consumers over
the past few years. In addition to convenience, debit card
users enjoy the option of paying directly from their personal
checking accounts by means of a plastic card. If your customers
use debit cards as well as traditional credit cards, you will
need a debit card acceptance device that allows debit card
users to enter their PINs (personal identification numbers).
These devices are known as
PIN pads. The
Verifone PIN pad 1000 is
a highly modular device that operates with virtually any credit
card terminal on the market today. If your business does not
currently accept debit cards but would like to add this feature,
please give us a call and we'll get you started.
4)
Do you attend conventions, trade shows or perform credit card
sales away from your primary business site?
Many
businesses travel to conventions, trade shows or process credit
card sales away from their main offices. This can be costly
since most convention halls charge premium rates for access
to the telephone lines needed to electronically process a
credit card charge. This can be avoided with the use of wireless
credit card acceptance machines or battery powered units.
The
Lipman Nurit 2090 is
a wireless unit that allows business travelers easy access
to credit card processing by using wireless technology. Battery-powered
units offer the convenience of a built-in printer and a battery
back-up that stores the transaction information until a phone
line can be reached. In both cases, merchants receive favorable
processing rates without unnecessary added expense.
5)Does
your business have more than one checkout lane?
If
your business operates in a multi-lane environment we recommend
a credit card terminal that can be settled simultaneously.
As such, all of your units can be placed on a "local
area network", or "LAN", by your processor.
This gives you the luxury of reviewing and accounting for
all of your credit card terminals' activity in one comprehensive
batch. The Verifone
Omni 470 is ideal for this purpose
offering a built-in PIN pad mounted on a swivel base that
gives your clerk and customer easy access to the unit. The
Omni 470 is flexible; if you choose not to utilize a local
area network the Omni 470 will operate as a superb stand-alone
terminal.
6)Do
you prefer processing credit card transactions using your personal
computer?
Many
businesses, especially mail and telephone order businesses,
have expressed an interest in using their personal computers
as a means of processing credit card transactions. In response
to this, we offer MerchantLink software. Certified on most
major processors, MerchantLink provides an easy-to-install
and use software solution. Ideal for home-based businesses,
MerchantLink supplies a full array of processing features
including credit, debit and check verification as well as
a full compliment of reports. Additionally, MerchantLink allows
the merchant to key multiple charges giving you the time-saving
advantage of submitting all recurring monthly charges at once.
